Copeland is looking for a highly skilled Technical Sales Engineer to join our team in Mumbai, Maharashtra. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for carrying out sizing and selection and providing timely quotations to customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough customer needs assessments to provide accurate quotations
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with regional sales managers and dealers
  • Track quotations issued, win rate, processing time, and proportion of clean orders received
  • Serve as a technical resource for regional sales managers and dealers in customer discussions
  • Foster a proactive approach to follow-up with customers for quotation conversions to purchase orders
  • Review purchase orders and hand over for execution
  • Consolidate and submit technical and price offers in customer formats
  • Verify PO compliance with submitted offers and notify customers/Sales Manager/Dealer of any discrepancies
  • Pass on clean orders with supporting documents to the SOM for execution
  • Guide SOM to provide order acknowledgement and necessary documents to the customer
  • Manage change orders to reflect impact on price, delivery, damages, etc.
  • Support the purchase team on clarifications for regulators imported from factories abroad
  • Collaborate with QA teams for inspection liaison with customers when necessary
  • Form a team with regional sales managers to meet and exceed regional assigned targets
  • Correspond with application experts at other locations for special applications/prices and interact with factories for testing requirements/delivery periods
  • Investigate MRO enquires with service teams, customers, and BU experts to propose solutions
  • Submit weekly/monthly reports in prescribed formats

About You:

We're seeking an individual who can quickly adapt to constantly evolving situations, adjust communication styles to meet diverse partner needs, and maintain focus on meeting deadlines. You'll analyze multiple sources of information to define problems accurately before moving to solutions. Your situational awareness and group dynamics skills will enable you to select the best-fit approach.

  • Knowledge of regulators/valve industry (Pump, Seals, Compressor background acceptable)
  • Good knowledge of commercial terms and conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree with x years' experience in the process industry
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills
  • Familiarity with basic business software applications
