Ciena Communications, Inc. seeks a highly skilled Technical Sales Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our sales organization, you will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and engaging customers at all levels, both technically and business-wise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for defined business outcomes within assigned territory or accounts.
  • Assist account teams in identifying, qualifying, and engaging customers at all levels.
  • Coordinate with various departments to influence feature and function roadmaps for Ciena's packet optical portfolio.
  • Act as a customer advocate to internal teams and a trusted advisor to customers.
  • Assist in assessing potential product features and providing input on prioritization.
  • Present to large audiences on subject matter.
  • Influence and capture customer applications to ensure product fits with Ciena's portfolio.
  • Understand the evolution of Ciena's product portfolio and articulate plans to customers at a senior level.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of telecommunications industry experience.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Layer-0, Layer-1, DCI, Metro, and regional/long distance transport networks.
  • Strong business development/commercial acumen to partner and support regional strategy.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
