Sales Manager

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth and profitability in the Biopolymers business in South Asia. This will involve acting as the first point of contact for BASF, effectively managing key stakeholders and projects to develop a sales project pipeline for future growth.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
1. Achieve Sales Volume and Profitability Targets:
• Interface with external customer organizations to successfully negotiate and close sales contracts.
• Proactively follow up with customers to resolve sales-related issues in a timely manner.
• Implement defined pricing policies to ensure profitable growth.
2. Sales Management:
• Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business targets.
• Document customer activities via call reports and project pipeline reporting.
• Submit rolling sales forecasts and weekly/monthly business updates.
3. Market-Related Activities:
• Effectively present core G-PM/PB values to key stakeholders to promote the use of Biopolymers products.
• Understand the market to identify new customers, projects, or opportunities based on G-PM/PA core values.
• Actively monitor and report on competitor activities, adhering to all BASF guidelines and policies.
Requirements:
- Degree holder in engineering, science, business, or plastics-related field.
- At least 8-12 years of working experience, preferably with exposure to the plastics or related chemical industries.
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role (Sales, Marketing, CSO, etc.).
- Knowledge of basic plastics processing (extrusion, injection molding, compounding), packaging, or other related industries would be advantageous.
