BDEs need strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, along with a results-oriented mindset.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead generation: Identify potential clients through market research, networking, and outreach activities.
  • Client relationship management: Build and nurture relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Sales strategy: Develop and implement strategies to meet revenue targets and identify profitable opportunities.
  • Proposal development: Prepare and present customized pitches, proposals, and product demonstrations to prospects.
  • Market analysis: Research market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal teams like marketing and product development to align on business goals and solutions.
  • Negotiation and closure: Negotiate contracts, manage complex sales cycles, and close deals.
  • Performance tracking: Track key sales metrics, monitor progress, and report to management.
