Accounts Receivable Specialist Job Description

Our organization seeks an experienced and skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to oversee the accounts receivable process. The ideal candidate will ensure timely collection of outstanding debts from customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement debt collection strategies that yield high success rates.
  • Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and take corrective action.
  • Negotiate payment plans with customers to resolve issues or disputes.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing and payment-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities, including customer interactions and payment arrangements.
  • Analyze delinquent accounts and prepare reports on overall collections status.
  • Implement credit policies and procedures to minimize late payments or non-payment risk.
  • Work with external agencies as needed to handle complex cases.

Requirements:

  • CA/CS certification or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field; a master's degree may be preferred.
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable management, preferably in supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly in accounts receivable and collections.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with ability to interact effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to assess data and trends to develop effective collection strategies.
  • Familiarity with collection software and tools for managing accounts receivable.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenging situations professionally and ethically.
