Regional Commercial Lead - India

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Regional Commercial Lead to spearhead our commercial efforts in India. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maximizing market opportunities and driving sales growth across assigned regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development Strategy: Contribute to the development of a comprehensive BD strategy focused on Global Accounts growth objectives, determining strategies for selected accounts, and building wallet share for Biocon API business in India.
  • Sales and Account Management: Lead operations, day-to-day activities, and monthly order forecasting to ensure smooth functioning of businesses and production planning. Grow share of business, expand relationships within customers, and direct/align with Global and Regional KAMs to penetrate client organizations.
  • Consultative Selling Approach: Deploy a strong consultative selling approach with assigned accounts to identify supply chain challenges and develop value-creating solutions. Interact with regular customers to ensure continuity of existing businesses from order receipt to shipment despatch as per customer requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Co-ordinate with planning/production and Logistics/Shipping teams to ensure timely despatch, shipping documentation, and payment receipts. Necessitate interaction/co-ordination with various Depts. for samples, regulatory requirements, DMFs, and other documentation for new customer & regulatory approvals to meet statutory requirements.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Provide market research, market intelligence, and key information on international market trends and competition to inform future export strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 15 to 20 years of relevant industry experience in API Sales and BD (India market focus preferred).
  • High energy individual with positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a hands-on, collaborative fashion with multiple disciplines both inside and outside the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in contributing to negotiation and closure of partnership agreements.
  • Strong leadership qualities, including excellent verbal and written communication skills, relationship management skills, strategic thinking, open-mindedness, and innovative thinking.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with incomplete information.
  • Good negotiation and presentation techniques.
  • Well-versed sales techniques, consultative selling, customer psychology, and purchasing patterns.
