About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing events from start to finish, ensuring success and cost-effectiveness within budget and time constraints. They will plan and execute events based on specific requirements, objectives, and target audience, innovate and implement strategies to maximize event success, and handle event logistics, planning, running, and post-event evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement event strategies that align with the university's goals and objectives.
- Operational Management
- Plan and execute events from conceptualization to execution, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual requirements, and other logistical arrangements.
- Innovate and implement strategies to enhance event experience, engagement, and impact.
- Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless event execution.
- Manage event budgets, supervise staff, and coordinate operations involved in the event.
- Research & Development
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and research in event planning, identifying best practices and emerging trends in the industry.
- Financial Oversight
- Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring alignment with university financial policies and procedures.
- Vendor Collaboration
- SOURCE, negotiate, and coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
- Academic Collaboration
- Collaborate with faculty members, researchers, and academic departments to develop and deliver events that support teaching, learning, and research objectives.
- Foster partnerships with external organizations to host conferences, seminars, and workshops that promote knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- External Representation
- Represent MIT World Peace University at external events, conferences, and meetings, enhancing the university's brand and community relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in event management, preferably in an educational institution or similar environment.
- Excellent communication, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and creativity.
- An estimated annual salary of ₹10 lakhs (approximately USD $13,300) based on location and experience.
