As a Freight Forwarding Sales Manager, you will be responsible for identifying prospects, making effective qualifying sales calls, and managing sales cycles to close new business for BCOs in different industry verticals for ODC and OOG cargo.
You will conduct research, gather information on prospective projects, and manage accounts to develop in-depth market knowledge. Your role will also involve generating new sales leads, contract negotiation, and sales closure.
You will prepare professional and accurate presentations, quotes, and proposals, as well as create and maintain comprehensive client SOPs. You will work closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless delivery of services.
You will adhere to updating sales activities regularly in the CRM system and develop new segments such as defense, plant relocations, and O&G. You will also align with the Freight Forwarding sales team for closure of ADHOC ODC & OOG shipments on a branch/region level.
You will build strong relationships with high-value key accounts in the region to enhance revenue. You will collaborate with the pricing and operations team to ensure delivery needs of customers are met cost-effectively and efficiently.
You will monitor receivables and growth of contractual customers and maintain working relationships with existing clients to ensure exceptional service and identification of potential new sales opportunities.
Qualifications & Competencies:- 8 to 12+ years of relevant industry experience
- Bachelor or MBA degree
- Sound understanding of project logistics
- Experience with OOG/OD cargo movements, understanding of cargo securing, stowing, rigging, and craning
- Ability to manage customer requirements
- Possess excellent relationship with vessel owners, agents, and customers
- Excellent commercial acumen and communication skills to build and manage profitable business relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders across the country and network
- Dynamic, good at relationship-building, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills in English, Hindi, and respective regional language, both oral and written
- Confident, self-driven, and a team player
