A successful Senior Business Development Director will lead a team of Sales Executives (Relationship Associates and Associate Sales Managers and Cluster Managers) and monitor their input/output activity to ensure lead generation through various sources.
This role requires developing measures and dashboards to measure the effectiveness of relationships, increasing insurance awareness and product penetration among Axis Bank's customers, and increasing insurance penetration among Axis Bank staff members.
The Senior Business Development Director will also suggest sizzlers and R&R platforms for Axis Bank employees who provide prospect leads as well as for MAX LIFE's dedicated sales team.
This position demands a deep understanding of IRDAI & other applicable regulations, good financial acumen, strong relationship, networking, and negotiation skills, and working with and through others.
Key responsibilities include:
- To increase channel contribution in overall revenue
- Improve current seller activation levels
- Adj MFYP vs. Plan
- Partnership review scores/measures
- Productivity & Quality measures (Case Rate, Case Size, Activation, Product Mix & Persistency etc.)
- New product sales vs. the objective

Key competencies/skills required include Relationship Management, Leading people, Effective Management of Process.
The desired qualifications and experience for this role are:
- MBA with 10 - 12 years of relevant business experience in sales with a minimum of 10 -12 yrs combined work experience in the fields of Life insurance sales management, Rural bank distribution, and Channel Management and/or DSA relationship.
- In-depth understanding of IRDAI & other applicable regulations
- Good understanding of financial tools/complexities
- Strong relationship, networking & negotiation skills
- Working with and through others
- Understanding of business dynamics
