Job Title: Senior Culinary Lead

This senior role oversees kitchen operations, ensuring smooth coordination and leadership of the culinary team.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs the Sous Chef in managing staff, including coaching, supervising, and evaluating direct reports.
  • Requires exceptional food knowledge and understanding of culinary terms to prepare company recipes and maintain quality standards.
  • Must be proficient in task completion, working efficiently, and productively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in any kitchen section, maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Manages cost control through proper use and handling of records, supplies, and equipment.
  • Analyzes operational problems and implements controls to optimize efficiency.
  • Reviews timesheets and forwards them for approval by the Executive Chef.
  • May prepare various reports and letters using personal computer systems.
  • Ensures accurate requisitioning of items within established timeframes and control procedures.

Motivational Responsibilities:

  • Monitors workstation functions and assigns duties and responsibilities to staff.
  • Observes and evaluates staff performance to ensure quality standards and service are met.
  • Recommends personnel actions, such as new hire requests or discharges, to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Inspects workstations, work areas, and equipment to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional food knowledge and a deep understanding of culinary terms.
  • Able to read, understand, follow, and prepare company recipes.
  • Proficient in completing tasks efficiently and productively.
  • Ability to work effectively in any kitchen section.

Certifications/Training:

  • Public Health certifications (US, Anvisa, Shipsan, Canadian, Australian).
  • Food safety and handling certifications.
