MAGNA, a leading company in the refractory industry, is an independent entity dedicated to the extraction and transformation of magnesite for its commercialization in the steel, agri-food, and environmental industries.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Refractory Business Development Manager - Steel Industry to join our team. This role will be based in India and will report to the India Area Director.

Job Description:

  • New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the steel industry, recognizing potential clients and engaging with them to explore mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Customer Relationships: Foster strong relationships with existing customers, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, including the Head of SAT and R&D, to develop and implement projects that enhance customer experiences and improve products and business processes.
  • Budget Preparation: Prepare annual budgets for estimated sales across all customers in the area.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate and agree contracts with customers and partners, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory guidelines.
  • Financial Management: Take responsibility for the financial management of projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Long-term Relations: Establish and maintain long-term productive relationships with customers, fostering trust and loyalty.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Background: Hold a degree in industrial or chemical engineering.
  • Industry Experience: Possess at least 5 years of experience in steel mills (preferably BOF shops) and/or refractory suppliers to the steel industry.
  • Languages: Have a perfect command of English and Hindi, with Odiya being an added advantage.
  • Skills: Demonstrate results-oriented behavior, excellent business, commercial, and communication skills, with a focus on time management and analytical skills.
