About the Role
As we grow, we're looking for a passionate Retention Marketer to help us build a strong, loyal community of repeat customers and keep our valued consumers engaged, appreciated, and connected.
Role Overview
As our Retention Marketer, you'll be the voice and strategist behind our customer loyalty and re-engagement efforts. You'll create and execute retention strategies that not only boost repeat purchases but also deepen emotional connection with our brand. Your work will directly influence customer lifetime value, brand trust, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Retention Strategy Development
- Craft and implement end-to-end retention marketing strategies that drive repeat purchases and improve customer lifetime value (CLV).
- Remarketing Campaigns
- Design and execute targeted email, SMS, and retargeting campaigns focused on re-engaging existing and lapsed customers.
- Community Building
- Build a tight-knit, high-value consumer community through personalized communication, loyalty programs, and surprise & delight initiatives.
- Customer Experience & Support
- Proactively handle and resolve queries from our repeat and high-value customers, ensuring a seamless, respectful, and delightful experience.
- Lifecycle Marketing
- Develop automated flows and sequences (welcome, post-purchase, win-back, etc.) tailored to different customer segments.
- Data-Driven Optimization
- Track, analyze, and optimize campaign performance; conduct A/B tests to improve email/SMS engagement and conversions.
- Improve Internal Systems
- Identify gaps in the customer journey and recommend systems/process improvements to enhance overall retention efforts.
Who You Are
- 1–3 years of experience in retention or CRM marketing, preferably in a D2C or consumer brand.
- Strong understanding of customer lifecycle, retention metrics, and remarketing strategies.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Excel, EasyEcom, Shopify, or similar platforms.
- Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
- Empathetic and consumer-obsessed, with a love for creating delightful brand moments.
- Bonus: Passion for jewelry, spirituality, or wellness.

As a Retention Marketer at Mesmerize India, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to ensure a seamless customer journey and maximize lifetime value. You'll be working with:
- Performance Marketer – to align retention efforts with acquisition and paid media strategies.
- Customer Support Lead – to understand customer pain points and enhance post-purchase experiences.
- Operations Manager – to ensure fulfillment, logistics, and backend processes support a smooth retention journey.
- SEO Specialist – to align content and organic efforts with customer engagement strategies.
- Marketplace Ads Specialist – to ensure consistency in messaging and promotions across platforms.
- Reporting To: Co-founder – working closely with leadership to shape customer loyalty and brand affinity.
