Job Overview
We're looking for an Assistant Category Manager to support the growth of an exciting new home decor brand. This role will be responsible for driving product sourcing, development, merchandising, and go-to-market execution. You'll collaborate across design, supply chain, and marketing teams to ensure timely product launches while supporting revenue and profitability goals. Ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, commercially sharp, and passionate about consumer products and design.
Key Responsibilities
Assortment Planning & Product Lifecycle Management
Identify product gaps and consumer needs to develop a relevant and competitive assortment.
- Work with design teams to conceptualize and launch new SKUs aligned with brand identity and trends.
Manage the product lifecycle from concept to pricing, launch, and phase-out planning.
Category Strategy & Growth
Analyze sales performance, consumer behavior, and market trends to support category planning.
- Recommend pricing, product positioning, and promotions to meet revenue and margin targets.
Assist in building innovation pipelines and contribute to annual category planning.
Business Performance Management
Track key business metrics such as revenue, margins, and product contribution.
- Use data insights to optimize product mix and improve performance across D2C and offline/online channels.
Work with sales and demand planning teams to drive forecast accuracy and inventory health.
Brand & Marketing Collaboration
Collaborate with marketing and brand teams on campaign calendars and go-to-market strategies.
- Support seasonal launches, influencer campaigns, and content planning.
Ensure product messaging aligns with category goals and brand tone.
Cross-Functional Execution
Coordinate with supply chain, packaging, finance, and digital teams to ensure smooth product execution.
- Resolve operational challenges and ensure on-time delivery of category initiatives.
- Maintain clear communication across departments for seamless project management.
Experience:
· 4–6 years in category management, merchandising, brand management, or product marketing.
· Prior experience in home decor, lifestyle, or consumer brands preferred.
Skills:
· Strong analytical mindset; comfortable with Excel, dashboards, and market research tools
· Sound commercial and pricing strategy understanding
· Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication; presentation-ready
Education:
· MBA or equivalent in Marketing, Business, or a related field (preferred)
