We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef with a passion for East Asian culinary arts. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cuisines such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, or Vietnamese. This role involves assisting the Head Chef in daily operations, ensuring the delivery of authentic and high-quality dishes, and leading a dynamic kitchen team.Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Development: Collaborate in designing and updating menus that showcase authentic East Asian flavors, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Kitchen Operations: Oversee daily kitchen activities, ensuring efficiency and adherence to hygiene and safety standards (HACCP compliance).
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, conduct regular audits, and manage supplier relationships to ensure the availability of fresh ingredients.
  • Cost Control: Analyze food costs, minimize waste, and assist in pricing strategies to maintain profitability.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all dishes meet the restaurant's standards for quality and presentation.

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6–10 years of experience in professional kitchens, with a focus on East Asian cuisine.
  • Proficiency in cooking techniques such as stir-frying, steaming, grilling, and wok handling.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in high-volume or fine-dining establishments.
  • Creativity in developing new dishes and adapting traditional recipes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
