Role Overview
The Head of Franchise Development will drive nationwide expansion through franchise partnerships across two verticals:
- Furniture Retail Stores
- Full Home Customization (Modular Kitchens, Wardrobes, Cabinetry)
The role involves building a strong franchise network, identifying and onboarding qualified partners, developing growth strategies, and ensuring a seamless handover to the operations team. The ideal candidate has a proven record of closing high-value franchise deals (₹50 lakh–₹1 crore per store) and deep expertise in franchise development within the retail or home improvement sector.
Key ResponsibilitiesFranchise Acquisition & Growth
- Develop and execute the franchise expansion strategy for both business verticals.
- Identify high-potential markets, territories, and store formats.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified franchise prospects with appropriate financial strength and business experience.
- Prepare and deliver compelling franchise proposals, including ROI models, unit economics, and overall value proposition.
Franchise Sales & Deal Closure
- Manage the complete franchise acquisition cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiations, site/factory visits, and final sign-off.
- Engage with senior-level investors (HNIs, entrepreneurs, business groups) and independently close franchise deals.
- Ensure timely, compliant, and transparent execution of franchise agreements.
Post-Onboarding Responsibilities
- Furniture Division: Oversee smooth go-live of new franchise stores, ensuring operational readiness, merchandising compliance, and brand standards.
- Full Home Customization Division: Facilitate seamless handover of signed partners to the operations team for execution and long-term management.
Business Planning & Strategy
- Plan territory allocation, market prioritization, and expansion targets.
- Benchmark franchise models against competitors to ensure strong market positioning.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports and dashboards covering pipeline, closures, and store launches.
- Build and maintain franchise playbooks—pitch decks, proposals, SOPs, and launch protocols.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with marketing to design franchise lead-generation campaigns and investor presentations.
- Coordinate with operations, finance, and design teams to showcase organizational capabilities to prospective investors.
- Act as the single point of contact for all prospective franchise investors until handover to operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- 12–18+ years of experience in franchise development, business development, or retail expansion.
- Proven experience signing and launching franchise partners within the ₹50 lakh–₹1 crore investment range.
- Strong network of investors, HNIs, and entrepreneurs across India.
- Deep understanding of franchise contracts, ROI/financial modeling, and unit economics.
- Experience in retail, furniture, modular/home improvement, or allied industries.
