Job profile: Head of People, Strategy & OperationsRole overview

The Head of People, Strategy & Operations is a key leadership role responsible for building the company's organizational foundation while actively driving business growth. The role requires a blend of human resources expertise, strategic business development, and strong operational management to ensure seamless project execution. This individual will be a key advisor to the founders on both people and business strategy. ResponsibilitiesPeople and culture (HR)

  • Talent acquisition and recruitment: Develop and implement effective, budget-conscious hiring strategies to attract top design, sales, and project execution talent.
  • Onboarding and training: Design a robust onboarding program that integrates new hires into the company culture and provides them with the tools needed to succeed.
  • Performance management: Create a performance review system aligned with business goals and sales targets. Coach managers on providing constructive feedback.
  • Policy and compliance: Formulate and enforce HR policies, standard operating procedures, and compliance with labor laws specific to the interior design industry.
  • Culture and engagement: Proactively shape and nurture a high-performance, collaborative, and people-first company culture.

Business development

  • Market expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, market segments, and potential clients in the interior design sector.
  • Strategic partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, architects, and industry professionals to generate leads and boost brand visibility.
  • Sales strategy: Collaborate with founders to develop and execute sales strategies for customer acquisition and revenue growth. Contribute to client proposal development.
  • Market analysis: Stay current on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging design needs to inform and refine business strategies.

Sales and execution management

  • Sales process management: Work closely with the sales team to manage the sales pipeline and track performance against targets.
  • Project execution oversight: Collaborate with the project management and operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales to project delivery. Address any execution-related bottlenecks.
  • Reporting and analysis: Monitor key business performance metrics (sales, pipeline, execution timelines) and present regular reports to senior management.
  • Operational efficiency: Streamline internal processes to reduce administrative overhead and improve overall project efficiency, from design approval to final installation.

Required qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience in a dual HR/business management role, preferably within a startup, real estate, construction, or interior design context.
  • Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Business acumen: A solid understanding of market trends, budgeting, and commercial operations within the interior design space.
  • Management skills: Strong leadership, communication, and emotional intelligence to manage teams and build relationships across all levels.
  • Technical proficiency: Familiarity with CRM and HR Information Systems (HRIS) software is a plus.
  • Personal attributes: Adaptable, highly organized, proactive, and results-driven with a strong problem-solving mindset.
