Consultant Grade-I Legal

Location- Delhi

Project – Department of Social Justice & Empowerment

Educational Qualifications

  • A first class  Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university of Top 100 Universities of  NIRF or India Rankings 2024: Top 40 in Law.
  • A Master's degree (LLM) in Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, or Public Policy is preferred.
  • Specialization in government schemes, social justice policies, or affirmative action laws is desirable.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 3-8 years of experience in legal advisory, policy drafting, and compliance management in government or public sector roles.
  • Expertise in constitutional provisions related to social welfare schemes
  • Strong knowledge of government procurement rules, contract law, and administrative regulations.
  • Experience in handling legal compliance, RTI responses, and grievance redressal mechanisms.
  • Ability to coordinate with ministries, legal experts, and stakeholders for policy formulation and execution.

Other Requirements

  • Familiarity with Supreme Court and High Court judgments on government schemes and reservation policies.
  • Experience in drafting legal frameworks for centrally sponsored and central sector schemes.

Strong research and analytical skills to assess policy impact and legal challenges.

Job Description – Roles and Responsibilities

  • Legal Advisory & Compliance – Providing legal guidance on government schemes, contracts, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Drafting & Reviewing Contracts – Preparing agreements, MoUs, and legal documents to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Litigation Management – Assisting in handling legal disputes, coordinating with external counsel, and managing cases related to social welfare programs.
  • Policy Analysis & Implementation – Evaluating legal implications of government policies and ensuring smooth execution of schemes.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation – Identifying potential legal risks in scheme implementation and ensuring corrective measures.
  • Stakeholder Coordination – Collaborating with ministries, regulatory bodies, and legal experts to ensure policy alignment.
  • Public Accountability & Governance – Ensuring transparency in legal processes and maintaining ethical standards in Programme execution.
  • Training & Capacity Building – Conducting workshops for government officials on legal frameworks, compliance, and rights-based approaches.
