We are seeking a talented and passionate Commis 1 specializing in South Indian cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. As a Commis 1, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and delivering exceptional South Indian dishes to our guests.
- Stock the assigned kitchen station with necessary ingredients and raw materials daily
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Master basic cooking techniques, including ingredient preparation and daily mis-en-place for your assigned station
- Prepare South Indian dishes according to standard recipes, ensuring portion control and minimizing waste
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) in all kitchen activities
- Clean and maintain all equipment within the food production area
- Report any hazards, unsafe working conditions, or equipment in need of repair to your immediate supervisor
- Participate in fire and life safety drills and maintain knowledge of emergency procedures
- Attend all required briefings, meetings, and training sessions
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food delivery
- Assist in other reasonable duties as assigned by management
**Qualifications**
- Passion for South Indian cuisine and culinary arts
- Basic knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques and ingredients
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and safety procedures
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality
- Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Goal-oriented mindset with a focus on efficiency and organization
- Time management skills and ability to multitask effectively
- Willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field
- Culinary education or training preferred, but not required
