We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis 1 specializing in Indian Cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru, India. As a Commis 1, you will be an integral part of our kitchen staff, assisting in the preparation and presentation of authentic Indian dishes while learning and growing in your culinary career.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for Indian dishes, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and meats
- Support senior chefs in cooking various Indian dishes, following recipes and instructions precisely
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Help with the proper storage and labeling of ingredients and prepared foods
- Assist in the plating and presentation of dishes
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours
- Participate in kitchen inventory management and restocking as needed
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and teamwork-oriented kitchen environment

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma or certificate preferred
- Food handler's certification
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques
- Familiarity with food safety and hygiene practices
- Proficient knife skills and ability to use standard kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and various regional cuisines
- Strong time management skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent team player with a supportive attitude
- Detail-oriented and organized approach to work
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field

**Additional Information**
Prior experience working with Opera or a related system
Fluency in English
additional languages are a plus
