The Platform Sales Leader will be responsible for driving the adoption of Kong AI across new and existing markets, expanding the customer base, and ensuring the long-term success of clients. This role is pivotal in shaping the sales strategy and execution for Kong AI’s next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales Strategy Development:
  • Develop and execute the overall sales strategy for Kong AI’s platform, including territory management, target market segmentation, and account prioritization.
  • Lead Sales Team:
  • Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals to drive revenue growth. Set clear goals, track performance, and provide coaching to ensure team members exceed their sales targets.
  • Customer Acquisition & Retention:
  • Identify and acquire new customers while building long-term relationships with existing clients. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention through strategic solution delivery and consistent engagement.
  • Solution Selling:
  • Act as the subject matter expert for Kong AI, understanding client pain points and aligning the platform’s capabilities to solve complex business challenges. Effectively communicate the value proposition to C-suite executives and key decision-makers.
  • Revenue Growth:
  • Take ownership of revenue targets and lead the team to consistently meet or exceed sales quotas. Collaborate with marketing, product, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment in achieving company goals.
  • Sales Forecasting & Reporting:
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on sales pipeline, revenue forecasts, and team performance. Use data-driven insights to refine sales tactics and strategies.
  • Strategic Partnerships:
  • Build and maintain relationships with strategic partners, including channel partners, resellers, and system integrators, to expand market reach and drive platform adoption.
  • Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis:
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments. Use this knowledge to adjust sales strategies, maintain a competitive edge, and identify new opportunities.
  • Sales Enablement & Training:
  • Ensure that the sales team is equipped with the necessary tools, resources, and training to succeed. Develop and implement sales training programs to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience:
  • At least 7-10 years of sales experience in enterprise software, cloud, or AI/ML technologies, with a proven track record of driving significant revenue growth.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing sales teams and achieving or exceeding sales quotas.
  • Experience selling AI/ML platforms, SaaS solutions, or similar enterprise technology platforms is highly preferred.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
  • Skills & Expertise:
  • In-depth understanding of AI, machine learning, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams to achieve sales targets.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and nurture relationships with C-suite executives, decision-makers, and key influencers.
  • Proficient in using CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) to manage sales processes and pipelines.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate market trends into actionable sales initiatives.
