The Platform Sales Leader will be responsible for driving the adoption of Kong AI across new and existing markets, expanding the customer base, and ensuring the long-term success of clients. This role is pivotal in shaping the sales strategy and execution for Kong AI’s next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development:
- Develop and execute the overall sales strategy for Kong AI’s platform, including territory management, target market segmentation, and account prioritization.
- Lead Sales Team:
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals to drive revenue growth. Set clear goals, track performance, and provide coaching to ensure team members exceed their sales targets.
- Customer Acquisition & Retention:
- Identify and acquire new customers while building long-term relationships with existing clients. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention through strategic solution delivery and consistent engagement.
- Solution Selling:
- Act as the subject matter expert for Kong AI, understanding client pain points and aligning the platform’s capabilities to solve complex business challenges. Effectively communicate the value proposition to C-suite executives and key decision-makers.
- Revenue Growth:
- Take ownership of revenue targets and lead the team to consistently meet or exceed sales quotas. Collaborate with marketing, product, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment in achieving company goals.
- Sales Forecasting & Reporting:
- Provide regular updates to senior management on sales pipeline, revenue forecasts, and team performance. Use data-driven insights to refine sales tactics and strategies.
- Strategic Partnerships:
- Build and maintain relationships with strategic partners, including channel partners, resellers, and system integrators, to expand market reach and drive platform adoption.
- Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments. Use this knowledge to adjust sales strategies, maintain a competitive edge, and identify new opportunities.
- Sales Enablement & Training:
- Ensure that the sales team is equipped with the necessary tools, resources, and training to succeed. Develop and implement sales training programs to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Experience:
- At least 7-10 years of sales experience in enterprise software, cloud, or AI/ML technologies, with a proven track record of driving significant revenue growth.
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing sales teams and achieving or exceeding sales quotas.
- Experience selling AI/ML platforms, SaaS solutions, or similar enterprise technology platforms is highly preferred.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
- Skills & Expertise:
- In-depth understanding of AI, machine learning, and cloud-based platforms.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams to achieve sales targets.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to build and nurture relationships with C-suite executives, decision-makers, and key influencers.
- Proficient in using CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) to manage sales processes and pipelines.
- Ability to think strategically and translate market trends into actionable sales initiatives.
