Job Description:
The role involves driving the success of product categories within a retail environment. Responsibilities encompass strategic planning, vendor collaboration, and ensuring product availability that meets consumer demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze industry trends and consumer insights to inform data-driven strategies.
- Develop long-term development plans for product categories.
- Determine exit strategies for underperforming products.
- Negotiate with vendors to achieve favorable pricing and quality of services.
- Ensure product availability that meets consumer demands by placing orders.
- Optimize product category positioning to maximize visibility.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities.
- Work closely with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories.
- Forecast product demand to ensure inventory sustainability.
Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
- MBA from a reputable institution.
- Previous experience in category management (6+ years).
- Strong knowledge of category management, marketing, and sales principles.
- Ability to analyze and develop accurate conclusions to support category decisions.
- Understanding of market and consumer insights and trends.
- Strong people management and persuasion skills.
- Analytical mind with strategic ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Good understanding of numeracy.
