Senior Data Analyst for Gift-Cards Business

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our Amazon Payments Global Data Science team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building analytical and scientific solutions that address complex business questions in the Gift-Cards space.

About the Role
You will drive the Data Science/ML roadmap for business continuity & growth, developing statistical and machine learning models to solve complex business problems in Gift-Cards space. You will design and run global experiments, find new ways to optimize the customer experience, and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Detail-oriented problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a self-directed environment and own tasks to completion.
- Passion for working with huge data sets, bringing datasets together to answer business questions.
- Thorough technical expertise on feature engineering, exploratory data analysis, and model building using state-of-art ML algorithms.
- Excellent business and communication skills to work with business owners, develop and define key business questions, and build mechanisms to answer those questions.
Requirements
- Bachelors with 10+ years or Masters with 8+ years of experience in Data Science and ML.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
- Ability to work backwards from customer needs, distill informal customer requirements into problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives.
- Deep expertise in various ML/DL algorithms and key parameters that affect their performance.
- Experience in Python, R, or another scripting language, command line/notebook usage.
- Proven experience in working with databases and SQL in a business environment.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills, able to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to a non-expert audience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in building & implementing scalable machine learning models in production to support real-time inference.
- Compelling communication and influencing skills, demonstrated experience in engaging and influencing senior executives.
- Familiarity with LLMs and AWS SageMaker.
- Publications or presentations at Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Data Mining journals/conferences.
Salary Range: ₹1500000 - ₹2500000 per annum
