Senior Revenue Recognition Specialist

The Senior Revenue Recognition Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that revenue recognition is performed accurately and in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Analysis: Conduct detailed reviews of contracts to verify compliance with ASC 606 and US GAAP.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and post monthly journal entries related to revenue and associated accounts.
  • External Audits: Assist with quarterly and annual external audits, providing supporting documentation and responding to auditor requests.
  • Internal Collaboration: Manage multiple internal relationships within the organization, including Operations, General Ledger Accounting, IT, etc.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform various ad hoc revenue analysis and reporting as needed.

Requirements:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Commerce or related field, 5-7 years of experience in accounting, preferably revenue accounting.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Public Accounting and/or professional services or IT industry experience highly preferred, CA/CPA or pursuing a CA/CPA a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

  • ASC 606 Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of the ASC 606 revenue recognition standard and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Communication Skills: Solid oral and written communication skills, detail-oriented and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
