About this Role:

This position is responsible for supporting the technical and operational lease accounting function to ensure complete and accurate financial close, internal, and external reporting, and the end-to-end lease cycle.

The successful candidate will support efforts to execute and document the lease accounting policy (in accordance with U.S. GAAP ASC 842) and appropriate governance, controls, and segregation of duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a centralized lease accounting close and reporting process, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company policies and procedures for accurate and timely payment/billing of leases.
  • Support the end-to-end lease accounting process by maintaining proper accounting and documentation of all activity in accordance with U.S. GAAP and in compliance with internal and external audits.
  • Analyze legal documents and determine lease classification in accordance with U.S. GAAP ASC 842.
  • Review lease classification testing in accordance with U.S. GAAP ASC 842.
  • Collaborate with senior staff on a regular basis.
  • Complete month-end close processes, including subledger work in CoStar, general ledger entries, and internal and external financial reporting deliverables, including reconciliations, roll forwards, footnotes, and controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of lease transactions.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and technical research to help analyze or support business decisions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Chartered Accountant preferred.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of public accounting or large multinational company accounting experience (property accounting preferred).
  • Experience with general ledger accounting systems (Oracle Cloud preferred).
  • Proficient understanding of U.S. GAAP-based financial accounting (ASC 842, Lease Accounting, experience preferred).
