Job Description
The position we are looking to fill involves heading our Credit Function, responsible for assessing and approving credit to SMEs, as well as monitoring portfolio performance. This role requires excellent analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to lead a large team across India. You will be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of applicants, designing and drafting credit processes and procedures, and suggesting modifications to our credit policy from time to time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a large team with presence across India
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of applicants
- Design and draft credit processes and procedures
- Suggest modifications to credit policy
- Support the development of credit scorecards and auto-approval mechanisms
- Suggest alternate data sources for underwriting
- Implement best practices for fraud detection
- Maintain portfolio loss within targets set by management
Qualification & Experience:
We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a strong background in credit appraisal and approval. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience in a non-banking financial company (NBFC) or bank, handling credit appraisal and approval for small to mid-size loans to trade and business enterprises. A strong understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks is also essential.
