Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned expert in control assurance to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing effective controls to mitigate risks across various business functions.

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of risk management principles and practices, as well as experience with data analytics and governance.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize key risks, design and implement controls to mitigate those risks, and monitor and report on the effectiveness of those controls.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that all controls are aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement control designs to mitigate risks associated with data governance, data lineage, data quality, records management, people risk, supplier risk, premises, and GRS.
  • Apply data analytics techniques and knowledge of principal risks to inform control design and implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize key risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Design and implement operating effectiveness testing methodologies to ensure the effectiveness of controls.
  • Consolidate and process information from multiple sources to support decision-making.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of overall experience in controls assurance/testing.
  • Degree qualification: Graduate or equivalent.
  • Relevant professional certification (CA, CIA, CS, MBA) or equivalent.
  • Process re-engineering knowledge (LEAN / DMAIC / Value Mapping).
  • Financial services industry experience.
  • Risk, control, audit, or governance function experience.
  • Project Management and Change Management expertise.
  • Databases and data science/analytics tools experience (SQL, Tableau, Qlik, Power BI).
