Job Opportunity

As a crucial member of our team, the Assistant Buyer plays a pivotal role in shaping the development of our Buying and Merchandising strategy. This involves collaborating closely with the merchandising team to ensure timely delivery of products that meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To contribute significantly to the development of the Buying and Merchandising strategy and adhere to this strategy at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with the merchandising team to guarantee that all deliveries satisfy assigned purchase orders.
  • Conduct thorough research to identify future product offerings based on customer preferences and technological trends.
  • Develop pricing strategies for various product lines in collaboration with the marketing department and management, aiming for optimal pricing agreements with suppliers.
  • Source and develop the right product at the right time to meet customer demands.
  • Maximize current sourcing channels and identify new opportunities.
  • Support negotiations and work closely with the supply base to achieve best costs and margins.
  • Collaborate closely with designers to develop styles, conduct design research trips, provide fabric and print advice, and inform best-selling styles for move-on designs.
  • Manage stock, style options, quantities, promotions, and markdowns in collaboration with the merchandising team.
  • Monitor competitors' activities through market research to understand trends, forecasting, color, and fabric.
  • Develop promotional plans, review and adjust season plans, and set standards for quality of merchandise with QA.
  • Reconcile store plans and fix departmental financial plans.
  • Conduct annual reviews of supplier performance with QA and pursue money due from vendors as a result of performance penalties or markdown and promotional contributions.
  • Regularly update the front-end on key product benefits.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

A Graduate/Diploma in Design/Apparel Merchandising, NIFT (GMT/FD/Textile /KDT/D&D), or Pearl Academy (IFTP) is required.
