About Amazon WWOPS Operations Job



Amazon WWOPS operations is a rapidly growing area within Amazon, and we are looking for a qualified lawyer to join our team. As a Corporate Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal support to our operations teams, ensuring that we comply with all relevant laws and regulations.



Key Responsibilities




  • You will serve as the primary lawyer responsible for counseling the business on a broad range of legal, privacy, competition, AI/ML and other technology, commercial, labor and compliance issues and regulatory matters.
  • You will work directly with the business, serving as their primary counsel on strategic deals, providing day-to-day advice, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and dealing with diverse stakeholders including tax, finance, public relations, labor & employment, litigation and public policy teams.


A Day in the Life



As a Corporate Counsel, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our operations teams, providing legal support and guidance on a wide range of issues. You will be responsible for structuring, drafting and negotiating commercial transactions, and will work closely with other stakeholders to ensure that our operations are compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.



Requirements




  • Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) from a leading university or law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in India or other common law jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 10 years of legal experience (with several years of experience at a leading global law firm and/or inhouse at a major multinational corporation), preferably with some portion of that experience in technology and commercial transactions.
  • The successful candidate must be proactive, enthusiastic, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
