About the Role:

The Amazon Corporate Council WWOPS Lawyer will be responsible for providing end-to-end support to operations of our unique shipping offerings to various shippers, specialty fulfillment network, and other innovative business launches.

Key Responsibilities:

- Serve as the primary lawyer responsible for counseling the business on a broad range of legal, privacy, competition, AI/ML, and other technology, commercial, labor, and compliance issues and regulatory matters.

- Provide day-to-day advice, resolve issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and deal with diverse stakeholders including tax, finance, public relations, labor & employment, litigation, and public policy teams.

About the Team:

- The candidate will be part of a diverse and dynamic team of lawyers supporting various Operations and Compliance businesses in India.

- This position reports to the Lead Legal Counsel - IN Operations and Compliances.

Requirements:

- Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) from a leading university or law school.

- Licensed to practice law in India or other common law jurisdiction.

- A minimum of 10 years of legal experience, preferably with some portion of that experience in technology and commercial transactions.

- Excellent language capability, including the ability to communicate orally and to draft legal documents.

Preferred Qualifications:

- A mix of in-house and law firm experience is a plus.

- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.

- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

- Strong written and oral communication skills.

- Common sense and great judgment.
