Job Description:

This role leads R&D operations with a focus on innovation and technical excellence. The incumbent will align research initiatives with business objectives, drive product development to meet organizational goals, and manage the R&D team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Leadership & Vision:
  • Define and implement the R&D strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize research projects and innovation initiatives.
  • Develop business cases for new product innovations and improvements.
R&D Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the R&D team.
  • Oversee new product development, formulation improvements, prototyping, and testing.
  • Monitor R&D budgets, timelines, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure IP strategy aligns with research outputs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with production, quality assurance, procurement, and marketing teams to ensure product readiness and market fit.
  • Translate R&D outcomes into commercially viable offerings.
  • Facilitate technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  • Stay up to date with scientific, technological, and market trends.
  • Ensure documentation, certification, and audit-readiness of R&D processes.
  • Ensure all R&D activities comply with relevant industry regulations and safety standards.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • New product development cycle time.
  • R&D cost-efficiency and budget adherence.
  • Customer satisfaction and retention metrics.
  • Number of successful product launches or patents.
