is seeking an experienced

Application Support Specialist

with a minimum of 5 years of experience. The Application Support Specialist is accountable for the availability, performance, cost optimizations and risk management related to Application services.

Experience range: minimum 5 years to maximum 11 years onlyLocation: Dubai, UAE.Mandatory Skills: Application Support, ITIL framework, Application trouble shooting, configuration and maintenance, performance tuning and optimization, MS Power BI, SSRS Reports, Tableau and Qlikview, etc.Notice period: Less than 30days.

The Application Support Specialist will provide enterprise-wide support for complex applications and interconnected technologies that require day-today support and administration in order to maintain optimal performance and utilization with focus on:Application availabilityApplication performanceIncident managementProblem managementService qualityCapacity managementBackup and recoveryHigh availability / Always on SupportTroubleshooting (Incident diagnoses and analysis)Disaster Recovery

Roles and responsibilities:

Availability Management:

Ensure that application availability exceed the defined service levels. Maintain the assigned application environment during business hours and off-hours. Install, configure and maintain complex application environments.Performance Management and Quality of service:

Define performance management parameters for related applications. Ensure that application services exceed the defined performance levels. Review application performance on a regular basis and ensure proactive actions and communication to avoid service disruption.Incident and Problem Management:

Provide second level support for incident and problem tickets while maintaining service levels. Manage services from relevant vendors.Disaster Recovery:

Ensure DR system readiness. Support failover/failback activities. Update DR runbooks as required.Compliance:

Ensures compliance of IT security policies and procedures. Ensures that the assigned applications are compliant to approved security standards. Report findings, recommend areas for improvement and implement approved changes as required.

Key Skills:

5+ years of experience at a relevant Technical position

in large organizations, preferably in Banking background.Experience in Application production support within the ITIL Framework.Excellent knowledge and hands on experience in :Application troubleshooting, configuration and maintenance.Application performance tuning and optimizationResolution of tickets with quality and within SLA.Proactive monitoring and incidents analysis.Experience in Work flow maintenance and Configuration.Very good knowledge of reporting tools viz. MS Power BI, SSRS Reports, Tableau and Qlikview.Experience in debugging any report and dashboard related issues.Knowledge on relational and non-relation Databases (Sybase IQ, Oracle, MSSQL, SAP HANA, PostgreSQL, Hive).Proficient in writing advanced Hive queries.Hands on experience in Windows and Unix Command. Good / fair knowledge on ETL tools like Informatica Power Center / BDM as part of report investigation.Good knowledge of Open source applications/application components.Knowledge on Informatica batch jobs – Monitoring and troubleshooting is an added advantage.
