Role Description:

This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Manager - Business Development. The Senior Manager will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with business development, including identifying potential clients, building and maintaining client relationships, negotiating contracts, and developing strategies to expand the company's client base. The role requires strong leadership skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:

For a Business Development Manager role in a battery manufacturing company, the right person is someone who possesses a blend of

  • Technical knowledge

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Background: Should have a bachelor's degree in engineering (specialization in Chemistry, Materials Science or electrochemistry is an added advantage)

Someone with over 5 years of experience in the energy storage industry, starting from R&D roles and transitioning into business development will be right fit for this role.

The person should have a deep understanding of battery technologies, manufacturing processes, and market dynamics.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Technical Proficiency: A strong technical background in battery chemistry, manufacturing processes, and quality control standards. Should effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Market Insight: Should keep abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in the battery market and utilizes this knowledge to identify market opportunities and develop strategic business plans.
  • Strategic Thinker: Should have a knack for identifying strategic partnerships, alliances, and opportunities for market expansion. Analyzing market data and customer feedback is also a critical aspect inorder to develop innovative strategies that drive business growth.
  • Relationship Building: Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and industry partners. Also, should be skilled in negotiating contracts, resolving conflicts, and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Sales and Marketing Acumen: Should have a proven track record in sales and marketing, with experience in developing marketing campaigns, generating leads, and closing deals. Should understand the importance of customer segmentation and targeted marketing strategies.
  • Problem Solver: Should be a proactive problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments and can quickly identify challenges, develop solutions, and implement action plans to overcome obstacles and achieve business objectives.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written is a prerequisite for this role. Responsible for Effective articulation of complex ideas, present proposals, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, leads, and opportunities using CRM software.
