Job Overview:


The Sr. Business Development Manager (Sr. BDM) at Softcell is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the growth and success in the Mumbai region. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of IT solutions, a proven track record in enterprise sales, and the ability to lead and inspire a high-performing sales team. The Sr. BDM will be instrumental in expanding our footprint within the discrete manufacturing sector and other key industries, ensuring that Softcell’s solutions align with the evolving needs of our clients.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of field and inside sales specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Guide the team in generating and closing sales opportunities.
  • Territory Management: Strategically manage and grow the assigned territory in and around Mumbai, meeting and exceeding sales quotas and revenue objectives. Develop and implement effective territory plans to maximize market penetration.
  • Solution Selling: Champion Softcell’s IT solutions within enterprise accounts, focusing on value-based selling and aligning our offerings with the customer’s business roadmap. Utilize consultative selling techniques to identify and address customer pain points.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with key decision-makers in enterprise accounts, particularly within the discrete manufacturing sector, to uncover new opportunities and deepen relationships. Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring that Softcell’s solutions are integrated into the customer’s long-term strategy.
  • Revenue Goals: Drive the team to achieve and surpass the revenue and sales targets for the SI BU. Monitor progress and implement corrective actions as needed to stay on track with business objectives.
  • Business Planning: Develop, execute, and monitor comprehensive business plans for the assigned BU’s solutions. Align the business plan with broader organisational goals and market trends.
  • Opportunity Management: Oversee the management of sales opportunities, ensuring that the team provides timely and complete responses to RFPs and other customer inquiries. Track the progress of opportunities through the sales cycle, from lead generation to closure.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders at various levels within client organizations. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and act as an escalation point for any issues or concerns.
  • New Business Development: Identify and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory. Leverage industry insights, market trends, and customer feedback to expand Softcell’s customer base.


Requirements:


  • Experience: 10-12 years of experience in IT sales, with a strong focus on the Mumbai market. Proven expertise in driving IT sales within enterprise accounts, particularly in the BFSI, IT Services, discrete manufacturing sector or similar industries.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing sales teams or business units. Ability to inspire and drive results through effective team management.
  • Educational Qualification: MBA with a specialization in Marketing or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Technical Acumen: A strong interest in learning and understanding the latest IT technologies. Ability to position and articulate the value of complex IT solutions to enterprise customers. Continuous self-learning and staying updated with industry trends are crucial.
  • Interpersonal Skills: High energy, excellent interpersonal skills, and a relentless drive to succeed. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and internal teams.
