An Amazon Last Mile Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing delivery station operations, ensuring that packages are delivered to customers accurately and efficiently. This role serves as the final link between Amazon's logistics network and the customer, managing delivery partners, drivers, and on-the-ground logistics performance.

Core Roles and Responsibilities

Delivery Station Management:

Lead all operations within a delivery station handling 30,000+ packages daily. Oversee inbound sortation, last-mile dispatch, and route planning to ensure on-time, accurate deliveries.

Partner and Driver Coordination:

Manage daily relationships with multiple Delivery Service Providers (DSPs) and hundreds of delivery associates. Monitor performance metrics such as on-road success rates, late deliveries, and route compliance.

Operational Performance and Reporting:

Define and track key metrics like delivery accuracy, delivery speed, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Present data-driven performance reports to senior management and suggest corrective actions.

Safety and Compliance Oversight:

Foster a culture of safety by enforcing company policies, maintaining compliance standards, and ensuring drivers follow safe driving and package handling protocols.

Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:

Implement process improvement frameworks such as Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma. Use data analysis to optimize route efficiency, resource utilization, and reduce operational bottlenecks.

Talent Management and Team Leadership:

Hire, train, and develop team members including assistant managers and associate leads. Manage performance reviews, set KPIs, and drive engagement through recognition and clear communication.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with Amazon's transportation, sortation, finance, and HR teams to manage routing, labor costs, and system integrations across shifts.

Key Skills and Competencies

Knowledge of logistics operations, dispatching, and transportation management

Expertise in Excel, KPI tracking, and operational reporting

Familiarity with Lean/Kaizen process improvement techniques
