Role Overview

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, reaching out to potential clients via cold calls/emails, nurturing leads, and helping convert them into long-term customers. The role will require strong communication skills, a good understanding of international logistics, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential clients in the U.S. logistics and freight forwarding industry
  • Make outbound calls and send follow-up emails to prospects
  • Qualify leads and set up appointments for the U.S.-based sales team
  • Build strong relationships with prospects and understand their logistics needs
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM systems
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely responses to customer inquiries
  • Meet or exceed KPIs related to outreach, lead conversion, and pipeline building
  • Stay updated on industry trends and service offerings of Progressive Cargo Inc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, preferably in logistics, freight forwarding, or B2B sales
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Comfortable with U.S. time zone working hours (night shift in India)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)
  • Self-motivated, goal-driven, and able to work independently
  • Knowledge of global shipping/logistics services is a plus.
