Job Title: Business Head - Sourcing (Denim & Non-Non-denim Category)
Position Overview:
The Business Head - Sourcing for the Denim & Non-Non-denim Category is responsible for leading the end-to-end sourcing strategy and operations for non-denim products. This senior role focuses on identifying, developing, and managing suppliers to ensure the highest quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of non-denim products. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in non-denim sourcing, a strong network of non-denim suppliers, and experience in managing complex supply chains in the apparel industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement a strategic sourcing plan for the non-denim category, focusing on quality, cost, and lead time.
- Align sourcing strategies with overall business objectives, ensuring a consistent and reliable supply chain.
Establish short-term and long-term sourcing goals that support sustainable and ethical practices.
Supplier Development and Management:
Identify, evaluate, and establish partnerships with non-denim suppliers to ensure quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers, securing the best possible terms while fostering strong relationships.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards and social responsibility.
Cost Optimization and Budget Management:
Drive cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiation, vendor selection, and resource management without compromising quality.
- Develop and manage budgets for non-denim sourcing, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
Monitor material costs and identify opportunities to reduce expenses and improve margins.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Work closely with the quality control team to ensure non-denim products meet industry standards and brand specifications.
- Implement and enforce quality control processes and conduct regular inspections at production sites.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, environmental standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with design, merchandising, and production teams to understand non-denim requirements and production timelines.
- Collaborate with the logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth transportation and delivery of sourced materials.
Coordinate with finance and legal teams to ensure alignment on contract management, budgeting, and compliance.
Market Research and Trend Analysis:
Stay updated on non-denim industry trends, raw material prices, and advancements in production technology.
- Research and evaluate new sourcing opportunities, including sustainable and eco-friendly non-denim solutions.
Provide insights and recommendations to the senior leadership team on non-denim sourcing trends and market dynamics.
Sustainability and Innovation in Sourcing:
Lead initiatives to source sustainable materials and adopt eco-friendly practices within the non-denim supply chain.
- Introduce innovative sourcing methods to enhance product quality, reduce environmental impact, and align with brand values.
Partner with suppliers to explore alternative production techniques, including water-saving and low-impact dyeing processes.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Use data analytics to make informed sourcing decisions and improve cost efficiency, supplier performance, and lead times.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations on sourcing performance, cost analysis, and supplier metrics for senior management.
Identify and implement digital tools to streamline sourcing operations and improve decision-making.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor a team of sourcing professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the team's expertise in non-denim sourcing and supply chain management.
- Drive collaboration and effective communication within the sourcing team and across departments.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Textile Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in sourcing,with at least 5 years focused on the non-denim category in the apparel industry.
- Strong network of non-denim suppliers and proven experience managing global supply chains for non-denim.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and sourcing tools; familiarity with digital sourcing platforms is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with sustainable sourcing practices and knowledge of environmental and social governance (ESG) in the supply chain.
- Familiarity with international trade regulations, tariffs, and compliance requirements specific to the non-denim industry.
- Knowledge of innovative non-non-denim technologies, such as sustainable dyeing processes and eco-friendly finishing techniques.
