Job Summary
The Assistant Manager/Manager – Donor Management will lead efforts to strengthen and grow CSA's donor base across multiple segments—corporates, foundations, high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), institutions, and individual supporters. The role involves cultivating long-term relationships, securing financial and in-kind resources, ensuring compliance and impactful reporting, and designing meaningful engagement opportunities. This position requires strong communication, relationship management, and fundraising skills to enable CSA to meet its mission and scale its impact.
Donor & Partner Prospecting
● Research and identify potential donors across corporates, foundations, institutions, and individuals aligned with CSA's mission.
● Build and maintain a robust donor database with key contacts, engagement history, and giving capacity.
● Track giving trends, CSR priorities, and philanthropic developments relevant to CSA's work.
Relationship Management
● Nurture and manage relationships with existing donors, ensuring continuous engagement and sustained support year on year.
● Act as the key liaison for assigned donors and partners, ensuring responsive and timely communication and trust building.
● Organize donor/partner meetings, presentations, and field visits to showcase CSA's work and impact.
Fundraising & Partnership Development
● Develop high-quality proposals, presentations, and tailored partnership pitches.
● Review agreements and secure financial contributions, in-kind support, and long-term commitments.
● Work towards achieving annual fundraising targets across donor categories.
Donor Engagement & Events
● Assist in planning donor engagement activities including employee engagement, campaigns, and recognition events.
● Collaborate with corporates on CSR initiatives, with individuals on giving campaigns, and with foundations on long-term program support.
● Ensure donor experiences are meaningful, impactful, and aligned with CSA's values.
Reporting, Compliance & Administration
● Coordinate with program teams to gather timely updates, reports, and impact data.
● Ensure donor-related compliance, documentation, and financial utilization reports are prepared accurately and on time.
● Maintain updated records of donations, utilization, and engagement touchpoints.
Internal Collaboration
● Work with the Manager / Senior Manager and program teams for aligned proposals, reporting, and donor servicing.
● Contribute to the development and execution of CSA's annual fundraising and donor engagement strategy.
Qualifications & Experience
● Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Marketing, communications, or related field (Master's preferred).
● 5–6 years of experience in the social sector under donor management, fundraising, corporate partnerships, CSR, institutional relations, or business development (NGO experience preferred).
● Proven track record of managing diverse donor relationships and achieving fundraising goals.
● Strong understanding of CSR regulations, donor compliance requirements, and philanthropic trends in India.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Hindi, and regional language (optional).
● Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with ability to engage senior stakeholders.
● Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite, CRM/fundraising software (e.g., Zoho), and creative tools (e.g., Canva).
● Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to multitask.
● Willingness to travel to CSA project locations and availability on some weekends.
Desirable Skills
● Existing network of contacts across donor segments (corporates, foundations, HNIs).
● Experience designing and executing donor/employee engagement programs.
● Creative thinking for innovative donor campaigns and storytelling.
Child Protection: The role involves frequent contact with children and young people. The post holder must adhere to CSA's child protection policies and uphold the highest standards of conduct.
