About the Role
We're looking for a dynamic
Category Manager
to own revenue, profitability, and growth for one of boAt's high-impact categories. This role requires a strong commercial mindset, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to drive strategic and operational initiatives across channels and products.
Key Responsibilities
Category Ownership & P&L
- Own category revenue, profitability, and growth targets in line with company objectives.
- Build annual business plans and quarterly forecasts; track performance across channels and implement corrective actions.
- Drive category expansion through new markets, channels, and customer segments.
- Optimize cost structures and margins by partnering with finance and supply chain teams.
Category Strategy & Growth
- Build short- and long-term category strategies rooted in customer insights and market trends.
- Identify white spaces, new sub-categories, product line extensions, and bundling opportunities.
- Track competitor activity and consumer behavior to inform strategic decisions.
Channel Collaboration
- Work closely with Ecommerce, Modern Trade, General Trade & International teams to align on priorities and execution.
- Strengthen relationships with distributors, partners, and key accounts.
- Support channel initiatives ranging from promotions and visibility to merchandising and scheme planning.
Product Lifecycle & Launch Management
- Own end-to-end product lifecycle—from introduction to exit.
- Partner with product & marketing teams to build GTM plans and ensure seamless launch readiness across online & offline channels.
Product & Innovation Management
- Collaborate with product development & R&D to suggest new products, features, and innovation opportunities.
- Monitor product performance and customer feedback to refine portfolio strategy.
Data-Driven Insights
- Lead data analysis across sales, reviews, ratings, and market trends to generate actionable insights.
- Provide leadership with strategic recommendations on pricing, positioning, and growth opportunities.
Marketing Alignment
- Work closely with marketing to create effective, on-brand campaigns and collateral.
- Track marketing ROI and optimize initiatives for maximum impact.
Pricing & Cost Optimization
- Develop competitive pricing strategies while safeguarding profitability.
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising customer experience.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop team members to drive high performance and collaboration.
- Conduct reviews, set goals, and build a culture of accountability and engagement.
