Job Title: General Manager Supply Chain Department: Supply Chain & Procurement

Location: Corporate Office / Hospital Network @ Ghaziabad

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Group Head Operations Industry: Healthcare /

Hospital Chain Position Summary: The General Manager – Supply Chain will be responsible for the end-to-end supply chain and procurement operations across the healthcare network, including procurement, inventory control, vendor management, distribution, logistics, and cost optimization.

The role demands strategic leadership to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of medical and non-medical supplies while maintaining regulatory and quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Policy Development:
• Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with the healthcare organization's goals.
• Define policies and procedures for procurement, inventory, warehousing, and distribution. Procurement & Sourcing:
• Oversee the sourcing and procurement of pharmaceuticals, medical consumables, surgical items, capital equipment, and general items.
• Negotiate vendor contracts and rate agreements to ensure cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards. Inventory & Warehouse Management:
• Implement robust inventory control systems across all facilities (central store + site-level stores).
• Monitor stock levels to ensure optimal inventory and reduce wastage and expiry.
• Lead monthly/quarterly stock audits. Vendor Management & Compliance:
• Build and manage strong vendor relationships.
• Ensure vendor performance tracking and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
• Evaluate and onboard new suppliers as per the organization's needs. Technology & Automation:
• Drive digital transformation in supply chain functions using ERP systems (like SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Promote automation in procurement, inventory tracking, and logistics. Team Leadership & Coordination:
• Lead and mentor a team of zonal and regional supply chain managers, pharmacists, and store in-charges.
• Collaborate with clinical, pharmacy, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth functioning. Cost & Process Optimization:
• Identify cost-saving opportunities across the value chain.
• Standardize processes and ensure best practices across all units. Key Skills & Competencies:
• Deep understanding of healthcare procurement and medical supply chain management.
• Strategic thinking with a strong analytical and commercial mindset.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.


• Expertise in ERP systems and digital inventory management tools.
• Leadership and people management abilities.


• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management. Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
•

MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain Management or Operations (Preferred).
• Certification in SCM/Logistics (CIPS, CSCP, etc.) is an added advantage. Experience:
• Minimum 12–15 years of relevant experience in supply chain management, preferably in hospitals, healthcare chains, diagnostics, or pharma companies.
• Proven experience in handling multi-location hospital or diagnostic operations.
