Procurement Head

Head- Procurement and Engineering - smart street lighting.

Position Overview:

This leadership role will manage procurement operations, IoT product commercialization, and hold a primary responsibility for overseeing design and engineering for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects, particularly smart street lighting and other smart city applications. The role will focus on optimizing procurement strategies, leading design and engineering for construction and installation activities, and ensuring the successful development and market introduction of IoT products.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Leadership:

• Develop and execute a procurement strategy for all materials and equipment required for EPC projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with multiple vendors to secure favorable payment terms and optimized lead times.
• Ensure materials meet the required technical specifications and quality standards, resolving any supply chain issues in collaboration with vendors.

• Collaborate with the finance team to align procurement processes with financial goals, optimizing working capital and reducing inventory carrying costs.

• Vendor Management & Supply Chain Optimization:

• Identify and develop a robust network of suppliers for both standard and specialized components.

• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure strategic cost advantages and long-term partnerships.
• Oversee vendor performance to ensure timely delivery, adherence to project timelines, and quality compliance.

• Implement a continuous improvement process for vendor management, regularly assessing and reviewing supplier performance.

• IoT Product Commercialization:

• Lead collaboration between procurement, engineering, and IoT development teams to bring IoT-enabled products to market.

• Ensure IoT products for smart street lighting and related applications maintain a competitive edge in terms of cost, quality, and innovation.
• Drive cost-effective sourcing strategies for IoT products while upholding superior quality standards to ensure successful commercialization.

• Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to align procurement with product innovation goals.

• Financial Efficiency & Inventory Management:

• Optimize procurement processes to minimize inventory carrying costs while ensuring that delivery timelines meet project and market requirements.

• Develop a robust procurement budget and cost control system, ensuring optimal use of working capital.

• Analyze procurement data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for process improvement.

• Design & Engineering Leadership:

• Lead the design and engineering function for EPC projects, taking primary responsibility for developing the technical architecture and solution designs.

• Collaborate with the project and construction teams to provide detailed engineering documentation, product specifications, and technical guidance for installation and construction activities in the field.
• Prepare and oversee all technical deliverables, including drawings, BoQs, and engineering documents, ensuring adherence to client expectations and project requirements.
• Ensure all designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet the highest technical and safety standards.

• Support project teams on-site by providing technical guidance for field installation and construction activities, ensuring adherence to design and engineering specifications.

• Quality Assurance & Compliance:

• Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure all procured materials and engineering designs meet the necessary quality standards and comply with project specifications.

• Develop and enforce stringent quality control processes across the supply chain and field implementation, minimizing risks related to material quality and installation accuracy.
