Area Collection Manager

Role & responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team of field collection executives across assigned locations.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual collection targets for the area.
  • Monitor bucket-wise delinquency (DPD - Days Past Due) and drive recovery strategies accordingly.
  • Implement and optimize collection strategies to reduce NPAs and improve cash flow.
  • Ensure effective follow-up with defaulting customers through field visits, calls, and legal action if necessary.
  • Liaise with legal teams for handling recovery through legal channels (e.g., arbitration, SARFAESI, etc. where applicable).
  • Conduct regular reviews and performance assessments of the collection team.
  • Maintain MIS and reporting of collection performance to senior management.
  • Ensure all collections and customer interactions adhere to regulatory and company compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Credit, Sales, and Operations for smooth recovery processes.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Sound knowledge of legal aspects related to collections (especially for secured/unsecured loans)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and collection tracking systems
