Category Manager – Loose Furniture & Furnishings

Location: Gurgaon 

Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Role Overview:

The Category Manager will oversee the entire Loose Furniture & Furnishings category, driving growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction across offline and online channels. This role covers product selection, procurement, vendor management, pricing, promotions, and sales forecasting. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of the furniture/home décor industry, ensuring quality, competitive offerings, and market leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Category Strategy & Planning

Develop and execute growth strategies based on market trends, customer insights, and business objectives.

Forecast sales and plan inventory to ensure optimal stock levels.

  1. Assortment Planning & Vendor Management

Curate the right product mix to meet customer needs.

Identify, onboard, and manage vendors; negotiate contracts and pricing terms.

Maintain strong supplier relationships for long-term collaboration.

  1. Pricing & Promotions

Define competitive pricing strategies based on market research and competitor benchmarking.

Plan and execute promotional campaigns to drive conversions while maintaining healthy margins.

  1. Performance Tracking & Analytics

Monitor sales performance and category KPIs.

Use data insights to identify gaps, opportunities, and corrective actions.

  1. Merchandising & Product Content

Work with content and design teams to ensure accurate, appealing product listings.

Optimize product descriptions, images, and specifications for superior customer experience.

  1. Channel Optimization

Manage performance across offline stores and e-commerce marketplaces.

Align pricing, assortment, and promotions for each channel, leveraging channel-specific growth levers.

  1. Customer Experience & Feedback

Analyze customer reviews and market feedback to identify product improvement opportunities.

Drive initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and reduce returns.

  1. Quality Assurance & Compliance

Define quality benchmarks for furniture and furnishings.

Ensure vendor adherence to product standards, installation feasibility, warranty norms, and after-sales protocols.

  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with marketing, operations, finance, and technology teams to align category initiatives with overall business goals.

Qualifications

Proven experience in Loose Furniture and Furnishings category management.

Strong background in procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiation.

Excellent analytical skills to interpret market trends and customer preferences.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Experience in the furniture or home décor industry is essential.
