Business Development Manager Merchant Acquisition

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and target category-wise merchants selling products online, ensuring alignment with business growth strategy.
 - Lead the entire merchant acquisition cycle – from prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing deals to successful onboarding.
 - Drive structured onboarding programs and provide training to merchants on using the portal for product listing, order management, and delivery fulfilment.
 - Develop and deliver high-impact presentations and sales pitches tailored to partner needs, demonstrating strong value propositions.
 - Build a deep understanding of Autope's services, payment solutions, and the merchant's product categories to create customised business solutions.
 - Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking, and category analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive advantages.
 - Collaborate closely with Technology, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure smooth integration and successful go-live of partnerships.
 - Manage and nurture long-term strategic alliances and partnerships, ensuring sustained growth and mutual business success.
 - Track performance metrics, monitor merchant activity, and implement initiatives to maximise merchant engagement and sales.
 
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate / Postgraduate in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
 - Minimum 5 years of experience in E-Commerce, Merchant Acquisition, or Business Development, preferably in the payments or fintech ecosystem.
 - Proven track record of closing high-value partnerships and delivering revenue growth.
 - Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
 - Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to engage CXO-level decision makers.
 - Strong communication skills – fluent in English (written & verbal).
 - Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and working knowledge of CRM/sales automation tools.
 - Good understanding of digital marketing, category management, and e-commerce business models.
 - Self-motivated, result-driven professional with strong problem-solving ability and a passion for business growth.
 - Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
