We are seeking a seasoned Freight & Logistics Procurement professional with deep expertise in managing end-to-end procurement of freight services, particularly for specialized equipment and project cargo. The ideal candidate will possess strong industry networks, strategic sourcing capabilities, and the ability to deliver cost-effective, reliable, and timely freight solutions for large-scale, high-value shipments across domestic and international markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement strategic freight procurement plans to optimize cost, service quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage procurement of specialized freight equipment, including reefer containers, flat racks, open tops, and other project cargo handling solutions for oversized, heavy, or sensitive shipments.
  • Negotiate contracts, freight rates, and service terms with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Build and maintain robust vendor partnerships to ensure capacity availability, favorable terms, and continuity of supply.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including supply chain, logistics, operations, and production teams to align procurement strategies with shipment requirements.
  • Monitor market trends, freight rate fluctuations, and carrier performance to drive informed and cost-efficient procurement decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, safety protocols, and customs requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 8–12 years of hands-on experience in freight and logistics procurement, preferably within shipping lines, freight forwarding firms, or end-user organizations.
  • Proven expertise in managing procurement for specialized equipment and project cargo.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship management skills.
  • Sound understanding of shipping documentation, Incoterms, and global trade practices.
  • Industry exposure to manufacturing, heavy equipment, infrastructure, or white goods sectors preferred.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
