Senior Ocean Freight Manager Position

The Senior Ocean Freight Manager is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning and execution of ocean freight logistics, managing relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other vendors, coordinating and monitoring inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations, negotiating contracts and rates with service providers, tracking and reporting on shipment statuses, developing strategies to optimize freight management and reduce costs, resolving any issues or delays in shipping processes, and collaborating with other departments to align freight operations with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Logistics Strategy: Develop and implement effective logistics strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Manage relationships with key vendors to ensure optimal pricing and services
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Analyze and improve supply chain operations to reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding international shipping
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ocean freight management
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, excellent negotiation and communication skills, ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in logistics management software
