Procurement Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to manage our Freight Forwarding operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for procuring freight services that meet our quality and cost standards.

Responsibilities include managing procurement activities, understanding customer requirements, supporting bids and tenders, managing operational issues, building relationships with carriers, developing contracts, overseeing enquiry requests, collaborating with teams, and reporting on performance metrics.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5-8 years of experience in ocean freight procurement, strong technical and market knowledge, industry insights, OOG and Break Bulk pricing and operations expertise, leadership skills, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement activities for our freight forwarding network
- Understand and qualify customer requirements for spot business
- Support long-term bids and tenders with complete and accurate responses
- Manage operational and post-shipment escalations
- Build and maintain relationships with carriers
- Develop contracts to support growth of freight volumes
- Oversee enquiry requests and escalations
- Collaborate with regional teams to ensure smooth workflow
- Maintain visibility and control for all spot and tender inquiries

Requirements:
- At least 5-8 years of experience in ocean freight procurement
- Strong technical and market knowledge, as well as industry insights
- Knowledge of OOG and Break Bulk pricing and operations is essential
- Ability to lead and motivate teams
- Self-motivated with solutions-oriented mindset and technical thinking
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
