Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Ocean Freight Pricing Specialist to join our team. As an Ocean Freight Pricing Specialist, you will play a key role in preparing and submitting accurate and competitive export ocean freight quotes for both FCL and LCL shipments.

You will liaise regularly with ocean carriers, NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers), and overseas agents to obtain competitive rates and scheduling information.

Your analysis of market trends and competitor pricing will support strategic pricing and tender decisions.

You will maintain and update pricing databases, rate sheets, and contractual agreements to reflect current market conditions.

Closely collaborating with sales and operations teams, you will ensure that pricing aligns with customer requirements and company profitability goals.

You will monitor and evaluate carrier performance and service levels in partnership with the procurement team.

Maintaining strict compliance with international trade regulations, Incoterms, and required documentation standards is essential.

You will support tender and RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes for strategic or large accounts.

Providing training and updates to internal teams regarding pricing tools, market developments, and system enhancements is also a key responsibility.

You will assist in developing and refining pricing strategies to optimize margins and improve service


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in ocean freight pricing, logistics, or freight forwarding.
  • Strong knowledge of export regulations, Incoterms, and international ocean freight operational practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and pricing platforms such as CargoWise, INTRA, INTTRA, or similar tools.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities coupled with strong negotiation skills.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
