Role & responsibilities
- Sales & Revenue Management
- Drive primary and secondary sales targets for the assigned region
- Ensure consistent volume growth across general trade, modern trade, and alternate channels
- Monitor and improve market share through effective sales strategies
- Team Leadership & People Development
- Lead, train, and manage a team of Area Sales Managers (ASMs), Territory Sales Officers (TSOs), and Sales Executives
- Set clear performance KPIs, review progress, and support career growth of the team
- Conduct regular market visits to coach and monitor field staff
- Channel & Distributor Management
- Appoint and manage channel partners, distributors, and stockists
- Ensure efficient distributor ROI, inventory hygiene, credit control, and claims management
- Resolve channel conflicts and build long-term partnerships
- Retail Execution & Market Development
- Ensure product availability, visibility, and merchandising across retail outlets
- Monitor and execute trade schemes, promotional activities, and in-store branding
- Drive numeric and weighted distribution in underserved markets
- Forecasting, Planning & Coordination
- Provide region-level input for demand forecasting and supply planning
- Collaborate with supply chain, marketing, and finance teams to align business goals
- Track competitor activities and offer insights for strategic decision-making
- MIS & Reporting
- Generate and analyze sales reports, market feedback, and stock movement
- Use tools like Excel, SAP, or CRM to ensure real-time tracking of sales performance
Preferred candidate profile
- 8-12 years of experience in FMCG sales, with at least 23 years in a Regional or Area Sales Manager role (Areas covered will be Rajasthan, UP and Delhi NCR)
- Experience in handling General Trade (GT) is essential; exposure to Modern Trade (MT) and e-commerce is a plus
- Preferred background in FMCG sectors. (Specifically in premium edible oil)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-location territories and diverse channel partners
