Join Mahindra HZPC Pvt. Ltd. as a Manager in Tissue Culture at our Mohali facility. This pivotal role reports directly to the Facility Head and offers the unique opportunity to lead cutting-edge tissue culture production within an organization committed to advancing agricultural biotechnology.

Overview

As the Manager - Tissue Culture, you will be at the forefront of producing true-to-type plant materials, ensuring zero mixing, and maintaining strict quality standards. You'll play a critical role in planning and executing production cycles with full traceability of all lots, ensuring that all activities adhere to defined standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols established by HZPC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the entire tissue culture production process, guaranteeing plant quality, genetic fidelity, and operational excellence.
  • Develop and implement production schedules while maintaining full traceability of all batches to ensure accountability and quality tracking.
  • Maintain and manage laboratory infrastructure according to hygienic and safety standards to facilitate an optimal working environment.
  • Design and conduct experiments to innovate and standardize new tissue culture methodologies and refine existing procedures.
  • Ensure strict compliance with SOPs and protocols for handling germplasm, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to uphold the highest operational standards.
  • Monitor and control production budgets, optimizing resources to meet production targets efficiently.
  • Lead and train team members to adhere strictly to SOPs, fostering a culture of continuous learning, safety awareness, and quality consciousness.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and reporting to support regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and informed decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Botany, Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in tissue culture operations, preferably within bio-plant industries or similar tissue culture environments.
  • In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of tissue culture techniques, laboratory management, and quality standards.
Competencies and Skills
  • Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong resource management skills, including equipment maintenance and supply chain coordination.
  • Commitment to adherence to rules, timelines, and seamless customer-centric operations.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership capabilities, with experience in team training and development.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and mathematical skills relevant to production and quality data analysis.
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on experiment design and process improvements aligned with organizational goals.
