Job Description:

Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant / Deputy Manager – Payroll to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in payroll management, hands-on experience with Darwinbox HRMS, and in-depth knowledge of TDS, income tax, and general ledger accounting. The role will also involve payroll audits and statutory compliance to ensure accuracy and adherence to legal requirements.

Key Role & Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end payroll processing for employees in compliance with organizational policies and statutory requirements.
  • Manage payroll through Darwinbox – including salary processing, reimbursements, arrears, and full & final settlements.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and timely deposit of TDS, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and other statutory deductions.
  • Handle income tax computation, proof verification, and annual Form 16 generation.
  • Prepare and reconcile general ledger entries related to payroll and coordinate with the Finance team.
  • Lead and support internal and external audits related to payroll, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and present payroll-related MIS and reports for management review.
  • Keep abreast of changes in taxation, labor laws, and payroll regulations.

Qualification, Experience & Skills :

  • B.Com / MBA (Finance or HR preferred)
  • 5 to 9 years of experience in payroll management
  • Working experience on Darwinbox HRMS or any other HRMS
  • Strong understanding of TDS, Income Tax, and General Ledger Accounting.
  • Hands-on experience in handling payroll audits and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and reconciliation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and payroll-related reporting.
